Ian is a long-standing enthusiast of and advocate for church buildings, arguing that - far from being a "burden" as many perceive them to be - they are a wonderful asset and potentially the best possible advertisement that Christianity can have. The problem is that too many of them spend too much time closed, and inaccessible to those who need them most.

Ian uses his expertise to help congregations maintain their buildings (there are many simple tasks which can lead to huge problems if neglected) and to open them so they can be released back into the purpose for which they were created, namely the glorification of God and the service of community.

Ian's church-crawling exploits have taken him all over Europe and a regular feature of his Heritage & Buildings Newsletter - available from the Publications page is a visit to one of his choice of Europe's Best Churches.

Church Video Clips

The Church Video Clips were taken at various times between 2011 and 2016. Locations featured are as diverse as Porto, Barcelona and the West Lancashire village of Tarleton. They are purely for interest and do not pretend to be professional-quality video productions.
